Note from selectors: To all players trying out for Rep Teams this season you are to trial in playing whites or Club Shirts you are not to wear any Rep gear, Emerging blues, Ghosts, Grade or even school rep teams gear. This is to allow everyone a fair and equitable chance on Grading Days.

Family Double Wicket Day- Saturday 20th SeptemberAs a lead into the upcoming 2008-09 season we are holding the Cobbitty Narellan Family Double Wicket Tournament.
The tournament gives Dad, Mum, Uncle or Big Brothers the chance to have a fun hit out with the junior club players, just before the 2008-09 season starts. The day is there for the family to come down have a hit-out with the junior club members and a chance for the juniors to have a hit with team mates before the season starts.
Double Wicket will be played on Saturday 20th September at Cuthill Oval Cobbitty. The day will kick off at 11am and run for as long as it takes us to play every game, aprox 3pm.
The day will commence with a knockout Bowl Off Competition
Each junior player is given one ball to bowl at the stumps those that miss are eliminated, and we will continue until there is only one bowler remaining who will be the "CNCC Junior Bowl Off Champ for 2008-09"

Cost of entry for the day will be $10 per family 2 player team and will include a BBQ lunch and a drink. There will be a BBQ and drinks for sale throughout the day and anyone not playing is welcome to come down to join us or help organise.Get the family down and set up your picnic lunch and have a great day out at Cuthill Oval Cobbitty.

Please advise interest of entering a family team to the committee whilst down at Birriwa registration days each Sunday.

                                      $$$ Umpires Wanted $$$
Our club needs to supply umpires for local CDCA games on a weekly basis during the 2008-09 cricket season.
If you would like to earn some extra cash on a Saturday afternoon umpires remuneration is -$180 for a 2day match and $100 for one day games.
If you have a reasonable understanding of the Laws of cricket, we can align you to a grade level where you feel comfortable umpiring, (i.e. less experienced would umpire lower grade games)

in2CRICKET (previously Have-A-Go)
The in2CRICKET program is an introductory cricket program for boys and girls aged 5 to 8 years old and teaches kids cricket skills in a fun environment. This year the program will commence on Thursday 16th October and run every Thursday from 5pm to 6.30pm on Birriwa Oval Mt Annan for 10 weeks finishing Thursday 18th December(prior to daylight saving we finish a bit earlier). A free BBQ & drinks will be provided to all participants on the final evening

We require volunteer parents to assist Greg Inger our club coaching co-ordinator with the program this year, so please let us know at time of registration if you can help with organising don't be concerned if you have never coached as all info/training will be provided.

Narellan Hotel is showing its support once again as a major supporter of Cobbitty Narellan Cricket Club. The sponsorship brings the benefits to the club of having a great location for both Junior & Senior teams to meet after the days play and mix with other club members.
The Hotel is well known for it's great food and family atmosphere. As part of our sponsorship the Narellan Hotel has made a generous offer to our junior teams wearing club clothing on a Saturday during the cricket season of FREE Soft Drinks, which is fantastic for the teams looking to grab lunch and a drink in the outside Beer Garden after the days play, we encourage all junior teams to drop by on the way home. Senior teams the Hotel is a great after game meeting point to ponder what could have & should have happened during the days play......

Want to Purchase Club Gear ?
Club clothing orders will be placed 1st week of September, for delivery prior to commencement of the season. And then again ordered at the completion of Round 3 of the 2008-09 season, the third and final order for the season will be placed 2nd week of January 2009. Please give to your coach or team captain your club gear order along with full payment. Coaches please ensure you pass orders to a committee member promptly to avoid delays in delivery of club clothing.
